Welcome!
We know that attending a new church for the first time can be overwhelming. Here are some answers to questions you may have that we hope will make your first Sunday less intimidating.

What should I expect?

You should expect to experience a warm welcome from people just like you, good northwest coffee, a casual atmosphere, a fun, safe environment for your kids, modern worship music played by a band (guitars, drums, keyboard), and practical, conversational teaching from the Bible.

What will happen during the church service?

The band will play a few songs, someone will say a few words to welcome everyone, the pastor will deliver a sermon from the Bible (about 30 minutes in length), we’ll observe communion (what’s communion? Click here), and the band will play another song. The service lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes total.

Will I be singled out or asked to do anything?

No. We want you to feel the freedom to remain as anonymous as you wish. We’ll request that people fill out a connection card during the service, but you will not be pressured to do so.

Will I be pressured to give money to the church?

No. We encourage those who consider Life Pointe to be their church home to give regularly as an act of worship to God and to help support the church. If you want to give you are free to do so, but we don’t expect you to.

What time should I get there?

The services are at 9:00 & 10:45 a.m.  We recommend arriving at least 10 or 15 minutes beforehand to check your children into The Grove (our children’s ministry), grab a cup of coffee or tea, and settle into a seat.

Where do I park, and which entrance do I use to get into the school?

We hold church services in the Commons at Timberline High School (click for map), which is on the left end of the building as you’re facing the front of the school. Park anywhere you like, but we do have reserved parking for guests right up front. Just look for the “Guest Parking” signs. Enter the doors to the left where you see the “Life Pointe Church” signs.

What should I wear?

People dress casually at Life Pointe: jeans, shorts, whatever you’re comfortable wearing.

How can I be sure that my kids will be safe in the children’s ministry?

The Grove is our children’s ministry for kids birth-5th grade. We perform a national background check on every volunteer who works with children and youth. We also have strict policies in place to ensure that there are always at least two volunteers in every classroom, so that kids are never alone with only one adult. You will be given a code when you check in your child, and that code will be displayed on the main screen if you are needed at all during the church service.

What if I want to keep my kids with me?

We’re comfortable with that! Feel free to bring your kids into the main church service. We know kids tend to wiggle and make noise, and we’re ok with that. If you prefer, we do provide a special viewing suite for parents with small children that overlooks the Commons, and is wired for sound so you won’t miss anything.  There is even a private section for nursing moms!

What about my kids who are in Middle School and High School?

We offer a separate class for Middle School and High School-aged youth (6th-12th grade) during the 9:00 a.m. service for biblical teaching geared just for them, along with discussion time and some other fun stuff. Check out our youth page here.
